I hope the above picture works. It is a picture of my ankle, nice and swollen. I had to miss my Friday intensity session today as there was too much inflammation and I had to go to hospital to make sure I didn't break it. It's been about ten hours since the accident and it feels much better. I am hoping to return to training on Monday and squat some nice intense volume.

I would just like to ask if anyone has experience with sprains and how soon they got back to training. And if that made it better/worse.

    Thanks.

My horse fell on my leg one time. Rolled around on my ankle. I squatted that night.

If you can train, it will probably make it better.

I trained on a sprained ankle a year and a half ago. Pulling sucked but squatting was just fine, especially with a high, tight wrap.

I ran a half marathon on a sprained ankle didn't do me any harm.

I've got a case of sciatica that makes your sprained ankle look like eye strain.

It takes a lot to break an ankle. I fell out of a tree once and landed right on my ankle. I thought for sure it was broken. When my dad got home, I told him I am sorry I broke my ankle we can't go to the shooting range. He looked at it, determined it was fine and said let's go.

Honestly once I started walking and moving around on it, it was. Must be an evolutionary reason why it's hard to break an ankle.

I would keep your foot elevated all day and ice the hell out of it. I sprained both ankles about 5 times each. 2 of those times were really bad and there was no way in hell I would have been able to squat for a week. If you feel ok doing squats by monday it'll probably help with healing. If it hurts like hell to walk you probably can't squat.
