    I once had to have my mom deload a failed bench side to side cause my father had just had a hernia operation. Good times.

    Not sure how helpful this will be to you but a buddy of mine hung a small electric winch from the ceiling and ties the bar to it, with a foot operated button he can use the winch to pull the bar off his chest.

    To the OP, I suffered a shoulder subluxation (partial dislocation) with 255 the weekend before last and THANKFULLY had a large, male spotter to help me get the weight off my chest. My wife never would have been able to effectively help me move the weight with my shoulder as compromised as it was.

    starting strength coach development program
    Got the MRI results today...full tear of the suprasprinatus and ifrasprinatus. Surgery to follow...illustrates the point to have a good spotter with you. Looks like I'll be NDTP for a while...
