At 91, Mrs. Rizan does a situp accidentally. We have not been doing any ab work, just deadlifts, leg presses, benches, lat pulls, and some getting-up-off-the-floor work. Carmen Phillips is her trainer, and I'm very proud of both of them.

That is freakin' awesome Coach! I have been desperately trying to get my 72 year old mom to start real training. This stuff is critical as we age.

I can't imagine how much money this would save our NHS in the UK if the government got behind something like this.

Last time I was at the doctors I saw an elderly man too physically weak to get out of his seat when called by the nurse, he'd managed to just about walk in on his own but wasn't up to this task. Whats more frustrating is the probable lack of knowledge from the people he was there to see.

Impressive. Why does Carmen keep her hands on the bar though? If the weight is too heavy for Mrs. Rizan, why not take off the plates?

Looked easy. Definitely had another one in her.

Why do I find this more impressive than a 600lb squat?

    Really superb work.

She's lifting the weight herself, but her control of the bar path is not good. She's almost blind.

About 3 months. I neglected to mention that, sorry. She started with us about 2 weeks before her 91st birthday. She has stopped using her walker and her cane.

600 lb squat at 91 would be pretty cool.

This has got to be the most awesome thing posted on this board since Brian's story. Just awesome.
