Valsalva maneuver
Mark, in reference to this thread about scenarios where a leg curl might be more relevant than a proper squat.
My observation is that an effective expression of strength is dependent on,
1) skill in performing the valsalva maneuver and
2) engagement of largest mass of muscle,
irrespective of the kinematic chain or the rate of motion or the range of motion involved.
So, it makes more sense to train the big five rather than say, leg curls. Even of leg curls might result in stronger/better developed hamstrings.
How far I am correct and how far am I being delusional here?
