    Default Custom-made Dip Attachment

I'm considering having a dip attachment made for my power rack, as I'm having trouble finding one. My garage is small and I don't have much room for a free-standing dip station.

I'm wondering if you would have any suggestions as to the specs and/or design.

    Thanks

    Rack:

    11-gage steel
    3"x3" posts
    1 1/4" diameter holes
holes spaced 3" apart on center

What is the distance between the uprights, front to back?

I will send you a photo of my dip attachment for my 34 year old power cage. It was custom back then, and it's pretty cool. It can be easily reproduced. I'll give you the dimensions of my cage and the dip attachment so yo can scale it accordingly. Send me an email address that I can forward it to.

34" is too deep. Use L's plans.

I just took some photos and preliminary measurements. My distance between the inside of the uprights is 21.5 inches, As long as there is absolutely no flex in your pins the design of my dip attachment should fit your cage. Mine is bombproof and stupid simple to construct.

In a rack with 22 inches between uprights, you can do dips between two bars slammed against the ID resting on pins at about waist height.

    Mark,

I have the 22" distance, and the dip attachment. Yes, putting 2 bars in place is an excellent idea also !

Any concern that this will bend the bar with a 350lb person?

I hope not. Will a 350 squat bend the bar?
