It was a great delivery and the crowd overwhelmingly enjoyed it. Unfortunately, there were no philosophy professors in attendance, though invitations were sent.

In addition to delivering this talk (to a crowd of over 300 people on a Friday night in sleepy Latrobe), Rip also guest lectured at my Science of Strength class earlier that day. I'm not sure the students understood what opportunity they had in front of them, but they all learned a lot.

The next day, Rip was kind enough to train with the SVC Fit club. Now those lifters understood the opportunity and benefited greatly.

It really was about as good a weekend as could be.

Thanks again to the SVC Fit Club- they really did an amazing job organizing the event.

Also, thanks to coaches Musser, Cygan and Krieg for driving long distances to join us.

    Very nice.

Here's a quote you might like, "science advances one funeral at a time".

What's up with the hiit comment? We love prowler work here. Are we not categorizing that as hiit for some reason?

I thought he was talking about HIT with one "i".

I had a very moving AHA moment about the utility of compound barbell movements during this presentation. A deeper appreciation of something I already understood. I think it was the combination of Rip's body language and choice of words, but I started to vividly visualize the human form as a system of levers and muscles, and I was able to apprehend their combined function during, for example, a squat. And my brain screamed out at me: Of COURSE this shit works better. I know, sounds simple, but there are different types of insights to be had when it comes to knowledge and understanding, and I didn't even realize until last night that I was lacking this particular one.

    Great job!

The back and forth about adding corrective exercises with that one young man during the Q&A was an interesting example of how people just accept certain things and how it is sometimes impossible to penetrate with logic.

That gave me pause as well, but I figgered that was it. The HIT/HIIT thing is unnecessarily confusing.

Fantastic lecture, Rip. A lot here for people to chew on.
