It's televised weightlifting. Standard shitty job.
They are apparently being televised in the US on BeIN Sports. I only found this out by accident so thought I would share in case anyone else was interested in watching and was as unaware of this as I was. The commentary is diabolically poor, but it's better than nothing.

Also being televised on ESPN3
Speaking of which, the collar was not secured on the left side of the bar for a certain lifter. As he stood up from a clean, he got lopsided, the weights slipped off the left side and the barbell shot up into his chin. Sounds made up, but I'm serious. I'm unable to find anything on YouTube, but if you've got Instagram you can find the video by searching "nikeweightlifting", and clicking on the latest video.
The commentary on Eurosport is fucking atrocious. Criticising the form of the Chinese lifter in the 63kg class, who went on to win and set a new world record. One among many infuriating transgressions.
Still, enjoyable enough to watch.
Mark,
Just curious - how come you didn't attend?
Too many Olympic weightlifters and coaches there.
