Captain Fantastic - (2016) with Viggo Mortenson - has its flaws, but more than a few laughs and some thought-provoking plot-lines regarding child-rearing and modern society. Watched it when it first came out and again the other day.

Rip, are you a fan of Stanley Kubrickís movies?

I look at his movies how you look at Ridley Scottís. Did you like 2001 and Dr Strangelove?

2001 is one of the top 5 movies in the history of film, and Dr. Strangelove is the finest showcase for the talents of Peter Sellers, and several other actors.

Agreed. You have good taste in movies, was cool to hear how much you respect The Exorcist also. I really liked Alien and Prometheus, so now Iíll check out more of Ridley Scottís projects, thanks.

Marc have you seen The Menu (2022)? Just a fantastic little dark comedy with Ralph Fiennes.

George C Scott is a gem in Dr. Strangelove. "Sir, you can't let him in here. He'll see everything. He'll see the big board!"

Question, when did movies switch from the firing of automatics from the hip in wide arcs Like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-reK6pGk8to

To the "tacticool" version of aimed firing like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZL9fnVtz_lc Heat is just the earliest example I can think of, was there an earlier movie that started the trend? Because it seemed to be an almost overnight and complete switch.

Michael Mann has been doing it right since the 80s:
