Last night I watched Buddy Holly Story (1978) with Gary Busey after I learned from a random podcast that Busey was actually musically inclined and played drums for Leon Russell.

    The movie was entertaining.
Busey's portrayal of Holly was good and it was easy to forget you were watching Gary Busey.

The bulk of my growing up years, we had a B&W TV, so I was in that boat, too. Seeing things like the Wizard of Oz, Star Trek, even Sesame Street in color for the first times were whole new experiences.

Extreme Prejudice (1987) - Nick Nolte & Powers Boothe. Underrated film. Nick did OK as a Ranger and Booth is always smooth. I'm sure Jenni would approve.

Yup. I liked him in Red Dawn. It's been years since I saw that movie. (Extreme Prejudice) The 80s were awesome for action movies. Movies in general, but especially action ones. I could live the rest of my life on just 80s action movies.

He was killer as Curly Bill, too.

I recently watched "They Live" again, loved it. It is a SF/Horror/Action movie, but so different, it has more depth and message.
The storytelling is so unexcited, the camera calm - like the main character. Just does what has to be done.

Saw Exhuma (2024, Korean movie) yesterday. Pretty cool horror flick. When a normal movie would end, you realize it's only one thirds done, and there's more to come. Not the most original story, but well executed.

I put this on here a while back, but it's worth reposting. If you've not seen Godzilla Minus One, you need to see it now. If you have Netflix, it's on there in color AND black/white. I'd suggest watching color first, then B/W.

I don't buy tons of physical media. Godzilla Minus One would be a purchase.

The Number 24 on Netflix is well worth watching. Based on true story. WWII Norway resistance.
