Rip, I just joined the forum and this is a nice addition to all of the strength training threads. You recently mentioned two of my favorite films: Used Cars and Kelly's Heroes. Both of those films are classics. Funny as hell ( I love the dark humor) and highly entertaining with really memorable characters. Man, do we need more movies like those.
I"ll throw one in that has some memorable characters and two of my favorites(Debra Winger & Nick Nolte) "Cannery Row". It was adopted from the John Steinbeck Novel. Sort of a "sleeper" that maybe wasn't seen by many people. Narrated by John Huston. Great film. Frank McCrae (the black mechanic from "Used Cars") has a supporting role.
I have to recommend The Clovehitch Killer. Tiny release, might have only been digital, but definitely one of the more underrated releases this year. Great performances and uncomfortably smart.
The more thoughtful Amazon reviews are less than kind. And you're right, it's barely available.
New to the forums and all..but couldn't help but chime in..for Eastwood movies I am surprised no one has mentioned The Outlaw Josey Wales...that is a classic.
Good afternoon from down under,
We have a streaming service here called Stan (similar to Netflix) that has this week added all of the James Bond movies, and all of the Marvel movies.
The question is - where to start? I want to watch both, having only seen a couple from each. However I'm feeling compelled to go into the Marvel cinematic universe first. Thoughts?
Casino Royale must be first. Then The first Marvel movie is Iron Man first movie, then chronologically.
I recently rewatched the Timothy Dalton Bonds, and I think they got a really unfair rap. There was a lot of negativity about his selection to play Bond, with a large group that were salty that it wasn't Brosnan, and they took a much more serious tone than the really campy tone of the latter Moore ones, and so they were just received pretty negatively. They stand up today though better than most in the franchise.
