Any opinion on the best Bond movie pre Daniel Craig era? We were having a light hearted arguement at work and there was no consensus. I remember enjoying “the spy who loved me” and “the man with the golden gun” but are there any others worth a rewatch?

I've been away from the site and training for the better part of the year due to workhour and schedule commitments, but figure this is a good one to weigh in on. For me, my favorite pre-Craig Bond is "From Russia with Love" followed closely by "Dr. No" and "Thunderball", and of course Craig's "Casino Royale". Most of the rest I could care less, and I still haven't had the desire to see the newest one.

Prior to Daniel Craig, Bond movies have always been reasonably campy, they seem to move in cycles that ends in some very out there set ups. Moonraker and Die another Day come to mind. Pierce Brosnan's movies were great I thought and easily the actor to play Bond behind Connery.

Hey Coach, not sure if any posted this already but thought a show on “boxing movies” would be great!

    Enjoy the movie podcasts overall!

    Thank you,

    Henry

I tend to categorise the movies in my head into the Daniel Craig era (legit action) and pre Daniel Craig (campy, watch with tongue in cheek) but will try Moonraker again (even if only for the great ending theme).

Fell asleep during Ghostbusters:Afterlife and was feeling like it was pretty turd up to that point. Is it worth going back and finishing?

    Yes. Unquestionably.

Predator is on HBOMax. This flick is a damned masterpiece. Every shot, every scene, captivating and compelling. Arnold is truly at his peak here. I don’t think he or Carl Weathers looked better. His team are made up of faces you want to keep looking at, real men. Surely a high watermark for testosterone in film. Absolutely holds up after 35 years.

"Gladiator" released in 1992 is pretty good.

I was at a barbecue recently and Predator was put on for the teens to keep them entertained. I recused myself from socialising to indulge again, to the annoyance of my better half. Some of them were Predatorvirgins and I was excited on their behalf. It was well worth the 24 hours of cold shoulder I had to subsequently endure.

Predator is my favourite movie, standing head and shoulders above everything else.

The only change that I think would make it a better movie would be removing the spaceship scene at the start.

Predator is a masterpiece. I don’t hate the sequel either, though it is not in the same weight class, but it is pretty fun.
