Default Back squat after broken leg

I broke my right femur in a car crash two years ago. As result, I had a titanum rod inserted into my right femur and bolted at both ends. An interdullarmy nail for the nerdy folk. I'm starting back in the weight room with Starting Strength. I'm having right right knee pain when squating. Have or anyone had any experinces with this? Or weightlifting in general after a broken femur? Any advice would be appreciated.

I don't remember a broken femur specifically. The general process would be the same.

I had an IM nail in my tibia, replaced with a plate after one of the knee-end retaining screws broke (before I started lifts on my feet again) but no knee pain. I'd say start with form checks - no reason an IM nail should hurt if it's intact.
