How Democrats Win Debates by Corrupting English - Reason.com

My version of this propaganda technique:

"I'm sick and tired of Physical Therapists denying their patients access to proven, effective therapy. They are stealing time and money from people they purport to help through the Witchcraft of bankrupt ideas about healing -- ideas long since shattered by decades of misplaced hope and the wasted dreams of millions of people who left months of "therapy" no better than when they arrived, while Physical Therapists and their insurance company lackeys bilk the nation for billions. Let me be clear: It's time for this to stop. That time is NOW."

"The Fitness Industry has destroyed the lives of millions of well-intentioned people through their desperate attempts to deny access to effective exercise, by clinging to outdated and demonstrably false methods of selling their treadmills, rowers, and elliptical machinery to the uninformed public. The people have a RIGHT to effective exercise in exchange for the exorbitant fees charged by Mainstream Fitness Industry -- fees that doubtless line the pockets of corporate bigwigs and their Republican trophy wives. These places are nothing but Casinos of faddish pandering to outmoded LSD-type time-wasting and the latest 'Modality of the Day' using colorful balls and shiny objects specifically designed to appeal to the hopeful-yet-uninformed consumer, while expensive and proven-useless 'testing' such as the 'Functional Movement Screen' lend an aura of Medical Technology -- and therefore Authority -- to the proceedings. Clearly, the time has come to cease the expensive charade which has defrauded innocent consumers far too long, and has denied access to truly effective ways of bettering health and wellness. Health and Wellness are a Right, and these corrupt corporate bosses stand squarely between that right and the people of this great nation."

Your turn. Be clever, and you may see this in a larger venue.

Ah. Clarification successful. Silly me, so literal and apolitical.

Democrats have won the War on English.

Related: Tax cuts don't "cost" anything. This is a particular peeve of mine that your article reminds me of. To the contrary, it is taxes that "cost" taxpayers the opportunity to spend or invest elsewhere. To accept that lower tax rates represent a "cost" is to believe that government is the source of wealth creation. That simply is not so and will never be, yet the Democrat- and media-approved premise around any discussion related to tax cuts is that they need to be "paid for." Jiggery-pokery, and applesauce.

I was hoping for some help with my propaganda campaign. We have lost the battle, but we're still skirmishing around the flanks.

It is quite interesting that the progressives were complaining about the same thing in regard to conservatives use of language around the turn of the millennium.

The good news: The fact that the progressives have learned to change their tune and tactics means it is not an entirely lost cause.

The bad news: We're talking about conservatives learning something and not continuing to slit their own throats. Fat chance. No matter how right they are they will alway find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

For years, Big Fitness has pushed a lie, a lie designed to benefit them and their shareholders at the expense of the poor. The bottom line takes precedence over fat bottoms. They suck in the disadvantaged with promises of easy workouts and unattainable goals: "How to look like Britney Spears in 30 Days!" "You too can have Channing Tatum's abs!"

Then, once honest middle-class Americans have signed up for automatic payments, Big Fitness abandons them. They don't have Spears' body, Tatum's abs, or hope. The people quit going to the gym, and the Fitness Mafia takes their money, making exorbitant profits off the weak backs of the poor.

Too long have we suffered! Too long have we endured the 1% having 99% of the gainzZz! Proleterians of the world, unite! You have nothing to loose but your treadmills, bosu balls, and Hammer Strength machines!
