You really think your HD is a better road bike than the Valkyrie? You obviously haven't ridden both.

Well, I have ridden both and yes I do think my bike is a better cross country touring machine than your Valkyrie. As far as just getting out and blasting down West Texas roads, I would probably choose the Valk. It’s quite a bit lighter than my bike and a also faster. No doubt that the Valkyrie is a great bike. Honda screwed up in dropping that model.

A couple of my buddies own Road Glides. One does super long trips with his wife. It really is a great touring machine, with it's fairing, cruise control, sound system, comfortable pillion seat etc.

But I know he's had some stomach clenching moments due to the weight; doing things like trying to make a u-turn on a dirt road two up.

I can keep up with him on my unfaired bike for just as many miles, and cruise around the city.

Dollar for dollar, I couldn't justify one. For a 10th of the price, I'd go with the Valk. But I am kind of a cheapskate.

I think your bike is at about 650 lbs. Maybe the new ones are at 805. In any case, not apples and apples to a Road Glide Ultra as far as the set-up with bags, trunk, fairing, etc... Even at 805 lbs, with that low box six, I bet you can throw the new one (Valkyrie) around. Have you ridden one?

Wikipedia says 660 dry weight. I must have remembered wrong. Haven't ridden in a while. That's Nick's bike.
