Speed Sets
[a** kissing started]
I noticed that there are always tons of questions on your books and for the most part, the books are so well written and obvious that I am surprised at the number of questions I see online. [a** kissing finished]
One thing I am confused about though are speed sets. I am going to add them in and I can't get any information about how fast the down portion of the lift should be. I know you explode up, but what about coming down?
Is it as fast as going up? Slow & under control?

BTW thanks for the books, man.

Slobberfest, eh? Well, I didn't invent speed sets, I'm no expert on their use, and I don't pretend to be. That's Westside's bailiwick. But I've used them two ways, 1.) down to a pause, maybe to a box, and then an explosive concentric unassisted by the stretch reflex, and 2.) down at normal speed and a hard, explosive stretch reflex rebound into an explosive concentric. Both have proven useful.

Thanks.
I was imagining the exact opposite, with both up & down as fast as possible. Obviously this way makes much more sense.
