I'm basically having the same problem with power cleans. I'm on my 3rd week of SS and I just haven't gotten them right at all yet. It's extremely frusturating. I'll be having a great workout and then I get to power cleans and get pissed because they aren't going the way I want them to and because of that I don't feel like they are benefitting me. I think it's mainly because of the rack position. I stretch my triceps and wrists and it still isn't there and I don't think I'm racking it correctly at the top. How long does it usually take your trainees to get the movement down correctly?

I can usually get someone doing a correct clean the first day. That's how critical coaching is, and how helpful a good coach can be.

Is there anything special you do with inflexible trainees to get them into good rack position the first day. That seems to be my main problem I think.

It may be as simple as a grip width adjustment, or it may require wrist/shoulder/tricep stretching.
