Question: you mentioned that there will be some low back 'slough' that will eventually go away once the hamstrings warm up. My question is that if an individual (me) who sucks at 'feeling' and maintaining low back extension in the bottom of a DL, could this exercise be used as a general warmup before you get to your workset DL weights to help aid with setting the low back? Or did I misinterpret?

Maybe if you're going to deadlift, you should use the deadlift to warm up for the deadlift, since you need the practice with setting your back in the deadlift movement pattern, not in the SLDL.

Thanks, RIP. I realized as soon as I posted that I needed to think about that for a couple seconds before posting. I'll think next time and keep working at it! Have a good one!

    Hi, Rip.

Is it normal to lift significantly higher loads when doing the SLDL in comparison with the RDL?

Probably, unless you load heavier weights on the RDL.
