A spare alloy is the spare wheel of the same type that is currently on the vehicle. Yours being alloys. BMW over here has replaced the spare wheel with an inflation kit. Other manufactures have put "space savers" in the trunk. These are narrow wheels that have a lower speed rating and are dangerous especially on Australian vast road system of bad roads. The reason I ask is I have looked at replacing a Ford I bought back in 2003. When I go to the dealers I ask them what type of spare is in the trunk, if it is a space saver I look at something else. Currently only a few manufactures put full size spare in the trunk. Believe me a full size spare is safer than using an inflation kit or a wheelbarrow spare on your car when you have a flat. Beats me how the government allows these type of spares in a new cars.

I'd never own a Benz, or a Cadillac, or a 4-door sedan of any type. Or anything without a clutch pedal.
