It's fun to type. Plus, I diagnosed mine via Dr. Google. So, really official.

I'm not the type of person who goes to the doctor much but I went because I had upper abdominal pain everyday for about a month - followed with a lot of indigestion, etc. I've never had anything like this before.
The blood test is probably for H. pylori, which is a common cause of PUD.

Sure. You don't have a diagnosis.

Do you mind sharing your tips for GERDs in general?

Sure. Figure out what it is about your diet that is causing the problem, and stop eating it, especially before bed. Wheat can aggravate the situation. I react badly to tomato sauce, uncooked egg yolks, and beans at night.

    Thank you.

My doctor is probably wrong anyways about the ulcer thing - he is an idiot to be honest. He said I had a hernia one time and I went and got it checked by a general surgeon, and the surgeon said I didn't have one.

Rip, do you personally drink soda every day? I know your opinion on added sugar so I assume that you drink diet drinks?!

I drink Diet Coke on the highway, but I don't keep it at the gym or the house.

I imagine you do this to limit the amount of soda you drink?

Why limit it if it doesn't have any calories?

I don't have PUD or GERD, but I have some significant GI issues. I've found that when my stomach is really acting up, I can keep food down better by sipping on either Coca Cola or Cherry Vanilla Pepsi. No other soda seems to give the same relief, and some, like Dr. Pepper makes it much worse. I end up wasting about half of a soda because I don't drink the whole thing, but I've had better results with soda than with any medication I've tried.
