Wonderful and very inspiring work, which brings me to this big question: when is the Starting Strength documentary feature film coming out, Rip??

"Starting Strength" is not a documentary: it starrts off as a mopdern Western, but quickly turns into s a sweeping epic journey through a valley of blood, guts and iron, that subsequently morphs into a action/adventure film where our plucky protagonist, "Ripp" does battle with a the forces of Captian Silly Bullshit; oddly enough, it later turns into a buddypic/romance between Austin Barkaki and Jordan Feigenbaum, only to quickly return to the buddy-cop genre with Hurling and (insert name of whackjob du jour from E&P). Inexplicably, the whole thing ends as a porno with yours truly and Ripp in a devil's threesome with Jillian Michaels. Or something like that.

It was interesting to watch Rip's interview of Inna.....
He clearly has no idea what these people do and how they live. While it's not for me, or Jordan, or Michael and unnamed others, adherence to traditional observance sometimes looks pretty alien (especially in Wichita Falls). The more they should be commended, along with Inna, for thinking and doing "out of the box" and adapting to SS "technology" .....something that actually is traditional. The Orthodox woman is a lot more "kick ass" than many people understand.
I think the film is likely to have some real impact in Jewish communities, but also in the larger community , if distributed or marketed widely.

I have always wondered about documentary and TV special type of stuff. Because the SS staff, Rippetoe, and WFAC are so interesting I would guess that they've been approached by production companies, film makers, and/or people in the film industry wanting to make a film or docu-series. It would certainly help the SS brand reach a wider audience as it continues to grow. With all of the masters athletes in the scene pulling high numbers it could easily make for a great story arc of a film.
Rip, have you guys ever been approached for this sort of thing? I have to admit I have not watched the above mentioned clip/movie yet. I will scroll up and watch now.

If you think that documentary film producers are in the business of helping people other than fellow leftists, you are not paying attention. The fact that this is interesting to us is not part of their calculus. Inna's project was prompted by her cultural scenario in the Five Towns, and the barbell training angle is a secondary factor for the filmmaker.

I don't know.. The idea of filming Coach Sullivan's masters athletes while they train for USSF sounds like a story that would sell to me. Can't you imagine the third act in the film when the subjects finally pull well over their own body weight at nationals! Leftist film makers love money... nobody loves money more.
But maybe you are right--maybe its just us that find it interesting.
