Depends on how bad the pain is and how expensive the treatment is. Might be worth a try, depending.
I have had mild shoulder pain and nerve tingling in the scalupa/trapezius area for over a year which has seen me visit the Phisiotherapy office and also consult an Active Release Therapy specialist, having no luck with either.
Yesterday I had a Chiropractic consultation in which she said that the nerve was irritated causing it to be in spasm, and suggested 'Adjustment' work, whatever that means.
Having already spent a lot of money trying to treat the problem, I am wary that this adjustment work will be further money wasted.
If you have ever experienced anything like this over the years, would you recommend I go ahead with the treatment or just stick to my NLP, getting stronger on the lifts? Thanks.

"Chiropractic is a form of alternative medicine mostly concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, especially the spine.[1][2] Proponents claim that such disorders affect general health via the nervous system.[2] These claims are not backed by any evidence. The main chiropractic treatment technique involves manual therapy, especially spinal manipulation therapy (SMT), manipulations of other joints and soft tissues.[3] Its foundation is at odds with mainstream medicine, and chiropractic is sustained by pseudoscientific ideas such as subluxation and "innate intelligence" that are not based on sound science... A critical evaluation found that collectively, spinal manipulation was ineffective at treating any condition." - Wikipedia
Far as I can tell chiropractic treatment should be thought of like massage. If it feels good and you enjoy it then do it, but it's probably not helping you recover.
The pain isn't unbearable but the tingling in my scapula is very irritating. I think I will give a couple of sessions a try. I was just curious as to whether you thought the Chiropractic industry was as corrupt as the Physiotherapy one.
What has been your personal experience with chiropractic?
You have a tingling bone?
Since the huge majority of the time a person initiates their own visit to a chiropractor, as compared with most doctor-referred Physical Therapy (at least here in the US), if you think it is corrupt, don't use a Chiropractor. I have been helped by chiropractic, and I think it's useful in certain circumstances, and depending on the individual Chiropractor. I have also been injured by a Chiropractor, so there's that. I can't remember being helped by outpatient "Physical Therapy."I think I will give a couple of sessions a try. Many years ago, I went to a chiropractor for bursitis in my shoulder. At first it helped immensely. Then after the first couple of visits, he would adjust me and I couldn’t even sit up from the table. I had to roll off to get down!
So, the next visit I told the guy that I was concerned that he wasn’t realizing his own strength. The guy was a giant weightlifter, and I’m small. I actually talked to the guy about the size of my skeleton and asked him to go lighter. Haha! He lightened up, and it helped again. The issue did resolve itself. Of course, I was not even 20 back then so it probably would have fixed itself anyhow. Anyhow, in any event, I recommend communicating with the doctor if things don’t feel right. This is true, in general, but especially when someone is manhandling your spine.
I don't know about the other poster, but when a chiropractor claims that an adjustment is suitable treatment for allergies I tend to wonder about their competence.
My experience with chiropractic, apart from reading about it online, is all anecdotal. Most of the people I know who have gone ahead and seen one came out feeling more or less the same as before except for one of my friends who has been getting an adjustment every other week since he was a kid. He is now a practicing chiropractor and told me to go get an adjustment when I was complaining about my allergies last summer. I don't usually listen to his medical advice.
