Default SS NLP potential change to the first weeks of training?

Hey Rip, On phase 1 of NLP we're looking to make gains every 48-72 hours on the squat and deads and at the very start we're doing bench and press every other workout. This automatically starts pressing gains occurring every 96-120 hours (halfway towards the "intermediate" mindset of weekly progress). Just wondering if there is any logical sense to starting out rank novices benching and pressing on the same day and every workout for maybe the first week or two if they could potentially make the recoveries in this 48-72 hour windows and squeeze a few more strength gains in a little more quickly.

Initially the weights are so low on pressing moviements that I wouldn't see that as being an issue as the volume and intensity wouldn't be overwhelming. I'm sorry if this has been discussed before. I couldn't find any discussion on it. I was just thinking over the methodology used for optimal training/minimum effective dose strategies and thought this may be a valid observation.

Or does it not really matter because this would just increase the speed that novices get into the microloading phases of the pressing movements and by the end of LP they would still be in the same place? I know I'm splitting hairs but interested to hear your thoughts on this.

I think the program works pretty well as it's written, but if you'd like to modify it, go ahead. Maybe you'll discover something.
