At the risk of popping all the love balloons:

Whenever I do an LP, I tend to get the T-overload symptoms too. I chase my wife around a lot more than usual and I start getting angry much more easily at stupid shit going on at work. Whenever I stop lifting for a few weeks or longer, all that goes away, and I start getting really fat and peaceful. I got my doctor to give me a T-test one time and it came back at the very top of the normal range (pretty good for a guy who is almost 40).

While I’m sure that some people are really better off on testosterone therapy, my experience makes me think that some of them might give squats and sufficient nutrition a really serious try for 6-9 months first. The normal male body (if you haven’t done stupid shit to it), is often very willing to pump out testosterone as part of the adaptation process.

Even if it’s natural, this is extra T. So whether it means I’ll keel over from a heart attack earlier than I would otherwise, I don’t know. I won’t say I don’t worry about it a little, but I hope that the increased fitness more than makes up for it. Besides, the worst, most lingering deaths I’ve ever seen, all happened to people who had gotten too old and weak to take care of themselves any longer. Better to be strong.

If you're eating lots of steak and eggs etc, my understanding is that the body makes testosterone from cholesterol and saturated fats. If these are readily available, the double whammy of abundant raw materials and the weight training stimulus could well boost T levels. Don't worry about heart disease, according to Dr. Rhonda Patrick on the Joe Rogan Podcast, heart disease is mostly caused by inflammatory chemicals, so things like smoking, stress, and refined sugar.

Shee-it, I wish deadlifts would do that for me! But then I am 66.
