    I'm sorry, thats just rubbish. There's no scientific evidence for that whatsoever and are you really suggesting that serious athletes should be celibates?

    However, I will be planning on donning one of those metal male chastity belts that John Lithgow's character described in the movie Kinsey. I'll keep it on all the time, except for workouts (can't add more than 5 lbs to my squat), for a full two weeks. If my strength goes through the roof I'll be sure to let everyone know.

    If you guys are not smart enough to pick up on the large amounts of SARCASAM you deserve to go on thinking you should only train while celibate.

    Wtf? Mark Rippetoe was joking? Draco, you need to teach me when he's being serious and when he's not. This thread discusses a pertinent topic for many males. There have been over 790 views so far. I wonder how many of those actually followed Mark's advice. Oh well...9th May (start date of this thread) to 14 May isn't that bad.

    Sorry for being slow Mark, but just to make sure, there are no negative effects from sexual activity on strength performance?

    Hey Mark,

    What pitch should my farts be? Right now they're at around an A sharp but I'm afraid that this is detrimental to my training. I found that when they were at around G-flat range my squats went up much faster.

    As far as sex and training: if you're having sex, you're with a woman, and significant others will slow down your progress. You catch their colds, they keep you up at night, etc.,

    Or you're hiring a hooker, and that money is better spent on milk.

    Masturbation is OK but you have to program it right.
