In that case why bother with fire extinguishers, smoke alarms, life boats on ships, first-aid kits, seat belts/airbags, Emergency Rooms, ambulances, fire departments, black-boxes on planes, I could go on. Those are ALL in place for situations that are, statistically, unlikely to arise for any individual. I have, and maintain, smoke alarms in my home, and they've never ONCE sounded during an actual emergency where injury or death of me and/or mine were a possibility. Any sensible person does, just like any sensible person shuns car crashes, building fires, etc. Unfortunately the other guy gets a vote too, and if HE decides it's a good idea to pound your head into the ground and rape your wife you have to take that into account. So just like a car crash, you can do EVERYTHING right and still find yourself in one, so best to do your best to survive before hand because afterward is too late.
