Yep, standard deal: the Korean is wrong.

Agreed. Before I sqyatted sitting cross legged (like a woman) was very easy for me as was sitting indian style on the floor. Now, with my squat almost at 500, and my legs thicker and "tighter" feeling, I cannot do so as comfortably as before.

No problems sitting cross-legged before SS and no problems after.
This has to vary from individual to individual depending on hip flexibility. If the rotation does not occur at the hip when sitting cross-legged, then the knee will be exposed to greater bending moment.

I love that feeling. I squat 100lbs less than you, but still, I just love that "thicker and tighter" feeling. Who needs flexibility anyway?

Ha. In your first post, you mentioned you could never sit with crossed legs, even as a kid. Well, I was a skinny beanpole and was very flexible. Both legs behind my head and walk around on hands - no training required. In Judo it was a bit useful, but strength would have been much more useful. 6'1" and 140lbs. *sighs* I would trade some flexibilty in the hips for some strength. Stupid genetics.

By the way, not many people do cross-legged in America?

Sitting on the floor sucks no matter how you do it. That's why someone invented chairs. At first, only rich people had them, but then once the rich people spent all their money being the first adopters, prices eventually came down and production increased so that the rest of us plebs could afford this new technology. Today, no one has to sit on the floor unless they're weird.
