    Rip,
This is a non training related question, but I believe it’s an interesting thought. If you don’t find it interesting then disregard this post.

I have an idea, my initial thought is that it solves one set of problems but I’m concerned it causes others.

A pair of baseball cleats, with a raised heel, made for catchers.

    Pros
    -could reach stance depth easier
    -less reliance on “knee-savers” *

    Cons
-raised heel with cleats sounds like a torque bar for snapping ankles
    -altered running mechanics
-less functionality anywhere other than behind the plate

Is my analysis accurate or what factors am I neglecting?

    Thanks

    * ”knee savers” are a foam wedge worn by catchers on the superior posterior portion of the shank

I've never seen these shoes, so I don't really know. Big heels help a front squat, so I'm sure you're right.

I was just reading about this topic this morning on one of Rip’s books, Mean Old Mr Gravity. If you search the forum or have that book there is a massive amount of info on shoes, raised heels, mechanics resulting from a raised heel, etc. the answer my friend is out there.
