Default Lack of "Pull On" Tabs on Weightlifting Shoes?

Mark, hope this Q. isn't too mundane, but wasn't sure which forum section to ask and have been wondering for a couple of years: Why weightlifting/squat shoes don't have the "pull on tab " at the heel like running shoes do?
Are they considered a hazard that can catch on something? Can't imagine on what.
    Thanks

Do you actually use the pull tabs on the heels? I never have.

I've only used the pull on tab on boots.

But, if you find your weightlifting shoes are hard to get on (but you're sure they aren't the wrong size) get a shoe horn:

They make getting on tight shoes quick and easy.

Thanks guys. Yes, i use the tabs on my everyday (running) shoes all the time. The leverage is nice if that makes sense. I did buy a shoe horn for the weighlifting shoes but just wondered why they didn't have tabs and if there was some specific reason they aren't made with them. I guess not everyone finds the tabs...ahem...handy.

Weightlifters are stronger than runners and don’t need the tabs
