What about the doc that said I have disc issues based on a quick punch to the lower back and a radiogram ? I saw him do the same thing to the very next patient...

If you are here, then you have access to good information. Many -- if not most -- people do not. You are one of the lucky few. This is half the battle, weeding out all the silly bullshit and finding what works. You've done that. You're here. Now you just have to do it (that's the other half). Isn't that good news?

All the good information I read about back pain before I knew what it was suggested going to a qualified medical professional and in one thread even rip it shouldn't be left to the internet to diagnose. I went to a doc which to me seemed like a good thing and he did that to me...

You're absolutely right. Do what the doctor tells you.

This one says I can lift.
But after his course of anti inflammatory medicine for a week.He is a general orthopedic and not a sports specialist so a little conservative.

So you suggest I shouldn't have taken the week off from lifting while taking the anti inflammatory ? Or not taken the anti inflammatory at all and continued lifting ?

Or should I just go to the gym on Monday . But what about his course of NSAIDS.

Always obey your doctor. After all, he is your doctor.

I've been off forum for a couple weeks. This was nice to come back to.

After all, the only difference between God and a doctor is that God doesn't think He's a doctor.

The basic problem here is that all Doctors are not created equal, just as all Strength Coaches or Lawyers or Plumbers are not created equal. There just seems to be a greater reluctance of the part of the General Public to question Doctors about nonsense like this, and Doctors happily take advantage of the General Public's lack of familiarity with Biology to encase themselves in a shell of Indisputability.

As the old joke goes, what do you call someone who graduated last in his medical school class at the worst medical school in the United States? “Doctor.”
