    Default Eating During Training

    Rip,

Does anyone at WFAC eat in-between sets/exercises during training?
My training days are roughly 1.5 hrs with roughly 6-7 minutes rest between sets.
By the time I get to the 2nd movement I'm starving and I start feeling weaker.
I was thinking if I brought some food I could keep my energy levels up.
Thoughts? Or is this a dumb idea?

    Thanks,

Lots of people eat between sets, usually just some carbs. Doesn't work for everybody, but it can be helpful.

Interesting. Thank you. I'm going to try it tomorrow with a turkey sandwich. I'll let everyone know if it worked.

Gatorade makes a chew I eat before deadlift. With other lifts, I can sip liquid Gatorade between sets, but with DL, and my belt tight, down in the bottom in the start position...the prospect of a "Technicolor yawn" is distracting.

A turkey sandwich is a bold move since the meat is going to be sitting in your stomach for awhile. I like Sour Patch Kids.

Rest intervals are for coffee and carbs. JMHO.

They are definitely not for porn... I won’t make that mistake again!

Harribo Gummi Bears are the obvious choice for inter set eating. Especially after heavy squats.

I second the haribo recommendation. They also have the secondary benefit of drawing some funny looks from the cardio bunnies who can’t comprehend why you would eat sweets at the gym

+1 for gummy bears! I was just munching on some this week between heavy squat sets. Highly recommend it.

The cardio bunny comment cracked me up. I hadn't even thought of that added benefit!
