    Coach;

    Had 12" of my colon taken out in July due to cancer. It was initially supposed to be a laprascopic surgery but turned into a full cut from my upper abdomen to below my belly button. Was so sick due to the chemo, I couldn't lift. I tried a few times but no go.

    I developed a slight hernia along the incision which doesn't hurt or bother me at all. It looks like my upper abdomen is protruding a bit. Had a very experienced Doc look at it and he recommended to just leave it alone.....not to worry about it unless it starts hurting.

    My question is have you ever know of anyone who lifts with an uncorrected abdominal hernia and do you recommend a wide belt if I do start doing squats and deads again?

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Phil lifts here with an uncorrected abdominal hernia. He thinks it's funny, for some reason. If it becomes a problem at some point, you'll know. If it bothers you until then, put a knee wrap around your ribs to put some pressure on it.
