Josh and JD: Rip where do you want to eat?
    Rip: Pappadeaux
JD: C'mon Rip, you can get Pappadeaux almost anywhere. Let's eat somewhere else.
Rip: Fuck, well alright...where are we going?
    JD: Picos

30 min later sitting at Picos...
    Josh: JD, what's good here?
JD: I don't know, never been.
    The rest of the table:
    Rip: Aww fucking hell
JD: silently please be good food, please be good food...

As you can see from Rip's statement, it turned out to be a good choice.

The Grand Opening went off without a hitch. We got a couple sign ups and a bunch of people who were hesitant got some exposure to the gym and the coaching methods that they normally wouldn't have. I believe we had about 40-50 people come in. The brisket was amazing - look up Corkscrew BBQ if you're anywhere near Spring TX.

Thank you Nick for including us in the weekly report!

    Here are some pics.

Ha ha. That's called 'dodging a bullet' JD. Very risky move. I see you like to live on the edge!

Congratulations on a terrific grand opening. I look forward to reading many success stories from SS Houston.

Will the Q&A we did during the grand opening eventually be uploaded to the Youtube channel? I wanted to share it with family.
No particular rush, but I saw the "In Depth on the Deadlift" coaching from that day was up so I thought I'd ask.

I am sure some of it will be at some point. Rip, Nick and Rusty are probably working on editing it now.

Just an update about SS Houston. We have been open for a little over 2 weeks and things are going well. Our classes are starting to fill up. We have availability for privates on the big 5 lifts as well as the Olympic Lifts. Stop by and say hi if you are in the area.

What good is all that strength if you can't properly express it - you know, strength displayed rapidly in the form of power...via the Power Clean?!

We're having our first Power Clean Workshop on Saturday Sept. 14th at 1pm. There are only a few spots left. Click link below to sign up!

This is a great opportunity to learn from a top-level Olympic lifter who understands the SS approach to the pull. If you're interested in the lifts and Josh is willing to teach you, you should take the opportunity to learn from him.
