Hi,
Could we get an update on John? Thanks.
Hi,
Could we get an update on John? Thanks.
John has long since completed LP and is now on a two-day Heavy-Light program that waves volume --> intensity over a 3-week cycle, followed by a deload week.
At the time the article was written:
SQUAT: 81x5x3
BENCH: 51.5x5x3.
CURLZ: 44x5x3.
DEAD: 125x5
As of today:
SQUAT: 170x1; 140x5
BENCH: 88x1; 65x5
CURLZ: 70x1; 60x5
DEAD: 245x1; 190x5
PROWLER: 90 lbs x 80ft x 4
This man is a badass.
I'm astonished by all my clients, all the time, and by the power of this approach to exercise and health. It never ceases to amaze me.
To both Johns, you are the men!
He's added some muscle and gained about 15 lbs in total, since starting. Keeping his weight up is a challenge, though. We'd like him to add another 5-10 lbs, but you know what they say--those are the hardest. Eating enough to maintain his current weight is a real job for him. We don't have medically accurate body comp data on him, so I can't speak to osteopenia, but he's obviously added some muscle. Hanging on to it is the challenge. If I had my way, he'd go to Steak n' Shake twice a day.
