Weekend Archives: Bill Been: A Defense of Precise Terms
-
Between sets my mind often drifts towards things like, "what if someone walked up to me and said I had the 'butt wink.' How would I refute that?" Then I work through a refutation. It's good practice, and it gives me something to do while I wait.
I've got 'one in the chamber' for most cheeseball arguments, such as:
-If you can't put it down slowly, it's too heavy for you
-You're going to hurt your (C6/L7/insert random bingo letter) from laying back too far when pressing
-Women will look big and manly with bulky muscles if they lift weights
-The strongest guys do an advanced program, so that's what most people should use
-My brother in law 'squats 315' and he says...
-Squatting below parallel is bad for your knees
-Tom Brady doesn't need to be strong
I haven't had these kinds of confrontations yet, but I'll be ready.
