A very well written and illustrated article. Although I have recently eschewed the mixed grip for the hook grip, it is an excellent resource. I particularly like the way you summarized the deadlift setup so succinctly and clearly in 5 easy to understand steps.
With “stiff knees”, reach down and grab the bar just outside your legs.
“Stiff knees” is not a succinct term. Though I understand what is implied here, others may not.

That tip to 'pull the thumb of the supine hand in ' was just what I needed. Now the weight is tracking properly up the shin. Even though I was trying to pull my hand back towards my shin, it often didn't do anything, but as soon as I applied some thumb, it went exactly where it was supposed to go.
