Train After Brain?
Hi Coach,
I lost control of a hand drill this morning and brained myself on the left side of my forehead with the battery pack end of the device. No passing out, vomiting, etc., but a headache and approximately half inch long gash at the point of impact, as well as some tenderness there, too. I have felt slightly dazed at times during the day, but that feeling seems to dissipate with rest, ibuprofen, and food. As a result of my piss poor DIY skills I suspect that this week’s training will consist primarily of rest, and not the usual 3 days of HLM. Is the protocol for returning to intermediate training after a (hopefully) brief lay-off different than what’s outlined for the novice in SSBBT?
Thank You,
Jon

Jon, if you're having concussion symptoms -- you are -- this weeks training starts at the ER. Now. Immediately.

Coach,
Thanks for this and will do. We can talk training at a later date.
Hi Dr. Sullivan,
If you were in my situation would you request a CT scan, etc., if the attending physician does not order one?
Thanks,
Jon

Why are you still typing about this? Why have you not taken us seriously? The first thing the ER guy will do is order a CT, but he can't order it IF YOU ARE NOT IN THE FUCKING ER, you moron. Get in the car and go NOW.

Coach,
Typing and sitting in a waiting room aren’t incompatible.
Thanks,
Jon

Hi Coach,
Clean bill of health. Apparently I presented with mild symptoms, so no CT scan advised, just rest and ibuprofen. Is the protocol for returning to intermediate training after a brief layoff different than what’s outlined in SSBBT?
Thanks Again,
Jon

Hopefully not longer than 1-2 weeks.

You haven't taken the layoff yet? If you have a "clean bill of health", just train. Today.
