Why do you think you strained your psoas?
Why do you think you strained your psoas?
Because it hurts lol!
Felt it pop while rolling...
You are better than most people at identifying a 1.5-pound muscle deep in the pelvis. I guess you have a clever exercise that isolates the psoas, right?
Well thank you! I spend a lot of time studying muscle anatomy diagrams with the hopes of identifying where all my little aches and pains come from.
Of course not 100% that it is that little 1.5# bugger but the pain is in the right spot (deep front of pelvis from top of femur across the pubic ramus and up towards the lumbar spine, and presents mostly during hip flexion and internal / external rotation. It almost feels like a really bad spasm.
Not sure though why I would want to isolate it though since I was under the impression that it functions in hip flexion systematically with the other flexor muscles (sartorius, iliacus etc).
My understanding is that these muscles work eccentrically while descending in the squat but of course I could be totally wrong which was why I was asking.
If my question is out of line or my self diagnosis seems absurd my apologies...
I think you just train through it. Not everything needs 100K-power examination.
