Ok, silly question?
As a rock climber once a week at the gym in the winter, does it make sense to throw in some sets of pull ups on other scheduled lift days to help with climbing? Considering that a pull up type position is similar to rock climbing I wonder if it is comparable to that of a football player performing squats in a lineman stance which we know is silly? In my mind the chinup uses more muscles therefore making me stronger for climbing?

P.S. Personally I feel the deadlift probably more than anything has helped my climbing with both grip and pull strength when giving everything I have to get up that wall or rock.
