    Ok, silly question?
    As a rock climber once a week at the gym in the winter, does it make sense to throw in some sets of pull ups on other scheduled lift days to help with climbing? Considering that a pull up type position is similar to rock climbing I wonder if it is comparable to that of a football player performing squats in a lineman stance which we know is silly? In my mind the chinup uses more muscles therefore making me stronger for climbing?

    P.S. Personally I feel the deadlift probably more than anything has helped my climbing with both grip and pull strength when giving everything I have to get up that wall or rock.

    Still trying to process this with my monkey brain, coach. There is slight internal rotation during the concentric part of a chin-up i take it?

    Do some pullups, and view them as practice instead of training.

    Hold your elbow at 90 degrees, pronate and supinate your hand, and watch your upper arm.

    Im seeing external rotation of the shoulder when i supinate my hand.

    What am I missing here?
