    I’m a brown belt (8 years training BJJ) and can unequivocally tell ya strength training makes a HUGE difference. I am only 3 months in to the novice program and have made some good strides in strength so far. I don’t have to use as much horsepower to sweep opponents or maintain top positions for example. Same technique level mind you, just stronger. This allows me to get less “winded” during my rounds and stay “relaxed and smooth”. Interestingly enough, being more relaxed and smooth helps me endure less damage during BJJ so I can balance the SS program and BJJ class during the week from a recovery standpoint.

    Makes a BIG difference when this 45 yr old has to deal with 20 something former wrestlers Lol.
