Yes. I think he compared the riot to the “night of breaking glass”. Because, broken glass.

Check out "Comrade Detective" on Amazon, if you want to watch a very funny, but not necessarily intended to be, series.

It was apparently put out by the Romanian Communists during the 80's. The characters deadpan through the most ridiculous propaganda lines possible that makes me wonder how stupid the government there was and how stupid they thought the Romanian population was. I would have probably have changed nothing in the writing if I wanted to have the exact opposite effect that they were going for.

The funny thing is that the first paragraphs of that Forbes link reads like it was written by that show's writers. Which raises the same questions about our elites and our citizens.

I suspect we are not so dumb, but that opportunism and cowardice will lead to similar outcomes anyway. I hope to be proven wrong.

Turns out that "Comrade Detective" is in fact a spoof, but presented as put out by the Romanian government.

This certainly improves my opinion of Romanians.

To be clear, I'm not saying that in 2016, he expected to win 2016 and 2020, just that he said it in 2016 and then in 2020.

Here is a 2016 video from the presidential debate of him refusing to commit to accepting the election results:

Here is another video in 2016 where he says he will only accept the result if he wins:
Trump: I will accept election results ... if I win - YouTube

Here is his position in 2020:
Donald Trump refuses to commit to accepting presidential election results if Joe Biden wins - YouTube

I could have sworn I heard him use the same line: "I will only accept the results if I win" in 2020 but I'm not able to find it at the moment.

Should Al Gore have contested the Florida results in 2000? Should the Democrats have objected to the Electoral College vote in 2016, 2004, and 2000?

I you agree with this, then you agree with the statements in the debate and with his response to Michelle Wallace. The "If I win" comment was at his own rally to his own supporters.

What did they do with it when they had it? They approved judicial appointments, and that's about all. And who is going to vote in another election anyway?

I'm uninformed on Al Gore contesting Florida in 2000, so I can't comment on that. I do not think Democrats should have objected to the Electoral College vote in 2016, 2004, and 2000. If you commit to the standards and process of an election you can't dispute it on the standards or process. That said I think the election process needs to be improved to increase security and transparency. Even though I doubt that the 2020 election was corrupted by fraud, I still think each case of fraud/possible needs to be addressed.
