Looks like the Olympics are cancelled again. Even though they're not especially popular around here, that's pretty depressing news.

What's interesting about Mr. Rippetoe is that his apparent ego, hubris and clear desire to be the infallible, all-knowing guy described above can't be helping Starting Strength (including not just Mark himself but the gyms, trainers, coaches and other people who've invested time, reputation or money into this). When the guy who says "Follow my strength program because I base it on science and experience" spends months rejecting facts and posting sketchy stuff from fringe websites, it would seem to cast in doubt his own expertise or knowledge. Every forum user he tells to go fuck themselves, or deletes accounts on, or otherwise alienates, first came here as a potential customer for what he sells. Seems odd.

When this thread began, I think we were all looking for useful information on this new virus and how it might affect us. It seems to end as little more than a Mark Rippetoe ego project (with Q-anon included). And I agree with this poster - Mark Rippetoe, go toe-to-toe with Rogan. See where the conversation goes. You seem mostly to be making a fool of yourself here. True "strength" doesn't reveal itself by being a vulgar, thin-skinned man, but rather by having a bit of humility and decency toward others.
I was being facetious with Ghost but this shit actually bothers me. I cannot, for the life of me, get my head around how weak one has to be to write some crap like this. If you aren't interested in something drive on. Nobody's making you be here. People like you are never going to be satisfied with the level of ass kissing. You're basically pissed he's his own man instead of toeing the line you've decided is the correct one to toe. You don't think people stronger and of better character than yourself respect him for that? He could get on here and tell us that little pink men with lobster claws came and toted off his grandma and it wouldn't change the fact that the program works and therefore I got my money's worth and then some.
And another damn thing...strength is just strength. Any moral feelings you have about vulgarity or humility are yours. They are not universal. Don't start with that "we all" shit. If you and ghost want to believe the narrative and never question or think for yourself and can't stand that anyone has a different standard, that's on you. Don't go projecting that shit thinking you're gonna sell it here. The shit you don't like is exactly what drew me. He seemed like a man who was gonna say the truth even if it was unpopular. So for every weakling who can't bear to hear someone not falling in line, there's another paying customer like me who doesn't require that he kiss your ass to hear him out. "Fall in line or it makes you look bad" is not a concept that people with character embrace.

Organized sports of all types must be immediately cancelled, by Executive Order if necessary. Someone might get sick.

Biden wants to ban chokeholds from being used by police. What an ignorant, ill-conceived idea.

The choke is probably one of the safest (for the detainee) nonlethal methods a cop can use.

Floyd dies from a heart attack and these idiots blame it on a chokehold. Chauvinís shitty knee on the neck technique bears no resemblance to any effective choke that I have seen.

At least some city councils have a notion of what would happen when you ban chokes:

How do you explain the revoking of Executive Order 13770, an order that banned administration officials from taking up positions as lobbyists upon leaving office for a period of five years? How do you explain the fact that this was one of his final moves as president? Is his next move in trying to infiltrate the Swamp through the back channels and drain it even more efficiently from there?

When you look at Biden's cabinet picks - they are certainly not Chinese. It's somebody - but definitely not the Chinese. Likewise, the swamp is not "communist". All these people driving the West into the ground are balls-deep in global capitalism.
It's very hard to imagine how Trump *could* even go after these globalists and for it to have a wider effect. America as it is, and as it was prior to Trump, protects these massive, global corporations. Could someone like Trump, say, nationalize Amazon? Could he put a stop to neoliberalism's commodification of the whole world?....
The Chinese subversion tactics have nothing whatsoever to do with Qanon. This would be similar to claiming Soviet subversion in the 1950s-1989 was just a myth, because we weren't all speaking Russian.
I don't know how you can honestly deny the tremendous amount of Chinese influence in American media, politics, academics and the amount of power they have over our transnational corporations.
    It is extremely well documented.

Why would our government need to nationalize Amazon?
They are a government-subsidized corporation with strings attached.
Should it choose to do so, at any instant, the government can exercise its right to more than 50% of the proceeds of the corporation through tax law. Should Amazon displease the wrong party members, they can cut off the subsidies.
It is, in practice a public-private partnership no different from the nationalized Fannie May and Freddie Mack mortgage system.
The government does not need to explicitly nationalize the "private" Federal Reserve Banks either.

The current two wealthiest men in the U.S. built their businesses on government-subsidy. The size of either of their highest market cap companies would be orders of magnitude lower if not for massive government subsidy.
This is a communist or socialist model where our politicians and bureaucrats select which companies will be allowed to succeed.
Quasi-monopolistic cartels of few companies in each industry are easier to control than thousands of smaller, competing companies.
We already have made big steps towards centralization of most of our vital industries and "transnational" corporations.
What we have now is a form of national socialism.
How has that been working out since 1970?

On the globo-capitalist side, the stocks for these companies and the companies themselves will not be allowed to fail; The public, investing in retirement accounts and the markets, will have a safe investment. Foreign citizens have safe investments. Foreign nations have safe investments.
The goal of communism is explicitly to tear down borders, peoples, nations in order to create globalist "equity".
Globo-capitalism has many of the same goals, albeit not explicit.
Both of these systems can reasonably be referred to as either crony-capitalist or marxist in addition to being globalistic.
There are, however persuasive arguments to be made that most capitalist systems will over time be corrupted into anti-nationalistic, crony-capitalist systems.

After all, "Drain the Swamp" was the foundation of his political platform, right? The FISA courts were weaponized against him, so it made sense for him to legally point the FISA courts (and thus the NSA) back at them.

I believe Donald Trump had a plan. He tried to throw all those crooks in jail....just like he promised. Right now, it looks like the Swamp was bigger than the man.
Many of the general concepts were rational and highly believable, but many of the specific claims were implausible.

WHO Information Notice for IVD Users 2020/05
The WHO is finally admitting that the PCR tests are too sensitive. Look for cases to start falling soon.
And of course this will have nothing to do with Biden being sworn in.
