It won't. Neither will Gov Whitmer's relaxation of restaurant COVID regulations, or Cuomo recently calling for the opening of his state's economy. Or the wave of COVID infections "finally" subsiding, as reported by NPR. Or Twitter finally locking down Antifa the same way they do conservatives. Or Amazon recently offering its distribution network to distribute vaccines.

These actions are all unrelated to Biden's inauguration.

Yeah, this is suspiciously timed to say the least. People who ACTUALLY know "The Science" tried to raise alarms on this all throughout 2020 and were ignored.

You have no idea what you're talking about.

Spiral ride, turk, leg drag, leg weave, knee on hip, back mount, etc. The list of ways to safely control someone without directly obstructing their airway or carotids is long and all of the ones I listed allow you to maintain control of a holstered service weapon and not get punched. You control someone through their hips, not their damn neck.

But the truth is cops, like the general population, absolutely suck at grappling. In over a decade of judo and BJJ, the number of cops I've met who actively trained is vanishingly small. The number who are any good smaller still. The number who compete to expose themselves to high pressure situations smaller again. And the number who walk in the door that aren't dogshit without years of previous training zero. If you think the average cop has any business putting people in chokes, you're a fool.

Re: the National Guard still stationed in Washington DC, J.E. Dyer (retired Naval Intelligence officer) expressed her musings:
Troops in Capitol complex moved from floors inside to parking garage for rest periods - Liberty Unyielding

In short, the deployment of tens of thousands of troops in the days leading up to the inauguration and beyond is bordering on insanity and is unnecessary. So why are they sticking around? Why has Biden not dismissed them yet?

The comments are especially interesting. Make of them as you will:

    Several possibly related observations:

    1. A number of President Trump’s EO’s have disappeared from both his archived WH website and the Federal Register, including but not limited to: his EO declaring DC a disaster area and specifically under FEMA control; his EO sending troops to “guard” the inauguration from January 11 - 24, 2021; and his EO declaring Colorado a disaster area under FEMA due to wildfires.
As an aside, presidential actions are part of the official public record and even if a subsequent president rescinds an EO, the EO cannot just disappear but must remain in the record and be referred to in any such later EO rescinding it.

    2. A couple days ago, Gen. Walker, CO of the National Guard said in an ABC News interview that the Secret Service and the Capitol Police were there to assist in the transition of power to military authority.

    3. On January 11, 2021 (I believe) the US State Dept. website posted 2 strange notices that said respectively that DJT’s presidency had ended at (a few hours in the then-future), and likewise VP Pence’s term as well. After the “switchboards” went crazy the 2 web pages gave error messages and sometime later State announced that it had occurred as a result of hacking by a disgruntled employee and to disregard.

    4. Since the election, the Monkeywerx YouTube channel (operated by a former AF veteran) has been reporting very heavy and unusual US military flight activity primarily domestically and overseas, and the movement of troops and equipment to various places around the USA. He (and others) have said that Patriot Missile batteries and other air defenses have recently been deployed to various urban areas throughout the country, including unusual fighter activity w/ in-air refueling tankers. Part of his shtick includes reporting on AF1 & AF2, and other dignitaries’ flights.

    5. There have been reports of unusual US Navy ship activity stationing off of both coasts at one point, as well as, deployments elsewhere, including in the ME and near Iran. The was also the video on Twitter yesterday of the woman in SD/OC filming an unusually number of large ships tooling around off the coast (possibly headed N from the looks of it) while saying “it never happens like this.” It was not clear at all if the ships were military or civilian, or even traveling together.

    6. Monkeywerx in it’s January 20, 2021 video said he tracked Trump’s final flight from Andrew’s AFB to Mar-a-lago and the plane did not use the AF1 call sign. Moreover a “restricted airspace” zone remained over Mar-a-lago after 12 noon. He said as a matter-of-fact, both Trump and Pence stopped using the AF1 & AF2 call signs on their planes “about 10 days ago,” that this was extremely unusual and he had never heard of this ever happening before. (Please see #3, above).

    7. Biden apparently had to arrange his own privately owned flight to DC for his inauguration. The media reported that this was the first time such a thing ever happened (if they can be believed).
Commander, your thoughts as to any of the above are greatly appreciated. Have a Great Day!

Re: point 5. I've been following the movement of EPFs and any USN ship that goes into an Amphibious Ready Group. Thanks to JE Dyer's tip on @ WarshipCam, spent Jan. 19 figuring out why the USS Comstock (LSD-45) went north and then south through the Panama Canal, details posted at JED's Jan 16 thread. My conclusion was a transfer of 'people' somewhere along the Pacific Central American coast from the USS Pearl Harbor (LSD-52) that deployed from San Diego on Jan. 11, and returned about 6 PM PT Jan. 20. On Jan. 21, was wondering what the USS Essex (LHD 2) Wasp-class amphibious assault ship had been doing between it's departure from San Diego on Jan. 11, and return on Jan. 21, with NO air assets on board. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images...8b8f09e032.jpg
imo, must have been handy having a full hospital afloat for whatever the Essex ARG was doing. USS Anchorage (LPD 23) and USS Portland (LPD 27) still afloat off West Coast. No news on any of the EPFs that deployed out of Little Creek, VA.
    - correcting #6 above: http://disq.us/p/2emalgf
    (6) Unfortunately, Monkeywerx is wrong. Pence was using AF2 when he flew to Fort Drum from California on Sunday. A poster on quodverum caught a screenshot of the plane with AF2. That was 5 days ago.
Cannot comment on the other points because I do not know.

There is currently No Biden EO on the Federal Registers. None of the 17 EOs claimed by the media could be found there. Why?

Which Trump EO number on FEMA did you referred to? What’s the number?
Strange things going all around. Is it crazy to suspect that the US military has effectively taken over Washington DC?

Ladies and gentlemen, you should disregard these smarmy shitheels. Stop wasting your time, money and energy on what was. If you want to survive in a protracted war, you have to be more agile than your adversary when they hold the advantage. This is fifth generation warfare. Your guns are for defense and hunting. Your mind, words and actions are the battle space shared with everyone else. They are also the weapons. You have to win this fight morally, intellectually and spiritually.

When the fuck did I say chokes should be used as a first resort? Position before submission. If the submission is necessary, it shouldn’t be banned by law. What’s a safer alternative? Pepper spray? Tasers?

Police should be taught how to grapple and apply some of the higher percentage chokes and when to release those chokes, if necessary. Many notable professors have trained police how to do exactly that. Royce has a whole program specifically for law enforcement.

You say I don’t know what I’m talking about, but after training for over 6 years at GH I can tell you that video you linked is not an example of an effective choke. With all due respect to cyborg, his gogo choke with the knee is probably not going to work, which is why he spent all of 5 seconds showing it. It doesn’t resemble what chauvin did either.

It might be helpful if you explained your perspective. Because it comes off as being centered around competition with rules and a referee. A cop charged with getting someone under control and arrest is quite different and needs to be done quickly and done from a standing position if at all possible. Going to the ground results in a loss of mobility and renders the cop vulnerable to attack from others who may the arrestee's friends or just some random lowlife looking to get involved. While there are a fair number of choking and strangling techniques, two of them are simple to teach, easy to learn, and can retained by the person who learns them with relatively little practice or recertification. Those are the rear naked choke and the fingertip grab of the trachea. They can be applied quickly and dropped quickly if required to detach from the arrestee and defend from other attackers either (preferably) standing or if necessary from on the ground if the engagement ends up there.

The techniques you describe are more complex, harder to learn, require more practice and almost certainly periodic practice with a semi-cooperative semi-resistant partner. What's more the cop involved can't disengage as easily while he's flexed up hard in some near isometric holds. He's likely to get stomped by someone else while he attempts the initial arrest in question.

If you have some experience in trying to effect an arrest in real life, this might be more apparent to you. If you have, your perspective might be useful to share with us.

As for cops in general knowing Jujitsu or grappling or just plain rassling, yeah, it's not common. But most LE basic schools do have some teaching in what is termed defensive tactics. It can be argued how effective some of the things taught in those basic schools are, but you are assuming that almost all cops know nothing. Way too broad of a generalization.

The real problem is periodic retraining or practice. Training costs money. Too much gets spent on inclusiveness and unity kum-ba-yah to keep the community organizers and city lawyers happy.

Just some realities you may not be aware of.

You have to respect this. It has been excised from American culture.

And when you see the left -- pieces of shit like Shea Frazier, BMueller et al -- point out that deaths following the vaccine are not necessarily the fault of the vaccine, remember the DR. Birx admission: Dr. Deborah Birx | Recording Covid-19 as Cause of Death No Matter What - YouTube
