As depressed as this current state of snitching has developed something occurred to me last night. Despite our image of US citizens as better than we are, what is happening now has happened before during the Great War under Woodrow Wilson. He assembled a pervasive surveillance state, ostensibly for spies and saboteurs, but that also got used for surveilling Joe and Jane Citizen for signs of slacking and disloyalty to the US. It takes a little work to find the information, but we had eager snitches here even in the "good old days".
I hear you. Even here in Kane county, which is about an hour outside the city, things are not bad at all. It's the densely populated areas that have to take a different approach.

The other 90% of Illinois, which is cornfields, soybeans and prairie have to abide by the same rules as Chicago, which is completely illogical.

Plus this whole lockdown really fucked with my linear progression.

With other plants in the region also facing closures, and prices dropping like a rock they're probably going to have to start killing the young feeder pigs. Because who the hell can afford to feed them at this point?
I say truck them to PETA HQ and set them free. Virginia needs some feral hogs to play with.

This specifically won’t apply to most of you, but generally it may eventually apply to each of us.

I have a son and daughter in law who live in Utah. If I leave Idaho and drive to Utah for a visit.. apparently I will receive a text upon entering Utah with questions regarding my medical history.

This brings up a number of concerning questions:
How do they know I left Idaho?
How do they know I arrived in Utah?
How do they know my number?
What if I don’t answer the text?
What if I answer the questions not to their liking?
What if I can’t produce the right “papers”?
Do I get put in some kind of a camp while waiting to get the right papers?

Does any of this sound ok? Does any of it ring a bell?

Why not just turn location tracking off on your phone?

Thank god, we wouldn't want to endanger anyone by purchasing "non-essential" food items. This will all be worth it if we can just save one life!

It's been like that for some considerable time. Our Police force isn't fit for purpose. They appear to be a mix of authoritarian social workers desperate to get people to act in a fashion they endorse; thugs and bullies who has a bad time of it in childhood; "ethnic" fillers who can hardly believe their luck at getting to drive fast cars, get paid and arrest people. The old idea of the "Bobby on the beat" disappeared sometime during the early 60s. They spend most of their time driving around in BMWs, swilling coffee, checking Facebook and checking everyone's thinking. They even arrest comedians who put up YouTube sketches that 'offend' others. You can be dragged out of your home for a tweet, or Facebook post which doesn't fit the PC squads agenda. Cov19 is like a gift to them. Our country is finished, dead, deceased, it's an ex-Britain.

I have read his introductory paper and watched the videos. My comments were based on the interview video. I believe you are from somewhere in the former Yugoslavia; Your English proficiency appears to be much higher that of most native English speakers, but the implications of some of his chosen phrases may have different meanings to you.

Mr. Dalio claimed in his interview that he believed the world would experience a revolutionary period that would likely last at least a few years; He said it could be peaceful, but in history, it often was not peaceful.
In the video, he repeatedly said: "We need to divide capitalism well" This phrase over the past 20 years in the United States has typically meant a top down monetary approach as part of a light socialist system.

It is interesting that in his interview, he only talks about the "wealth gap", but in his writings, he equally blames a "values gap"

He also said: China has done many helpful things we should be thanking them for.
Directly from one of his papers:
" I have been going to China a lot over the last 35 years and am lucky enough to have become well-acquainted with its top policy makers. This has helped me see up close how remarkable the advances in China have been and how excellent the capabilities and historical perspectives that were behind them are. These excellent capabilities and perspectives have led China to become an effective competitor with the US in production, trade, technology, geopolitics, and world capital markets. "

If we take his background into context and the implications from the above quote, his pro-China bias is clear. It also looks to include an admiration for China's state-directed capitalism model.

While I respect Mr. Dalio and believe him intelligent (I would not have read the papers or watched the video otherwise), I will never cede my responsibility and right to think for myself to a higher authority.

Mr. Dalio himself recognizes in his paper that: we should "Remember That What I Don’t Know Is Much Greater Than What I Know"

This is not necesarily possible on most modern smart phones.

    Listen to Eric Snowden.

    Look into linux-based phones.

I wish the answer was that easy..
I’m thinking of driving down next week to see what happens. It might be best to be one of the early captives instead of a late one?
