Bumped, because it is useful: Leading From Fear | Points and Figures
This problem is not only with the patients the doctors and nurses suffer from it as well. How many bad decisions because of fear from catching covid killed people that didn't need to die. I personally believe that many doctors are afraid because they honestly think nothing can be done and that adds to the panic and clouded thinking which leads to bad treatment.
Here in Israel, health care is a socialist type system. And doctors need to follow protocol that is told to them to do. Also many doctors Don't have the time to do independent learning and just rely on the hand out learning material from the health department.
I know of 2 healthy men in their 30s that are on ventilators now that should not be at that stage of the pathology had it been treated correctly and EARLY!
You would have thought that the great smart out of the box thinking doctors of Israel would have come up with a protocol that works. But alas the shit show goes on and people die because the concept of early treatment isn't even thought of or brought to light.
I believe the facts about his life don't back this up. Such as his interest in being a Fire Protection Cadet and him cleaning graffiti off of someone else's business. These things show an interest in bettering his community and I'm willing to give him credit for that. But I've never talked to the boy, so I'm not gonna die on that hill long as we agree he acted in self defense.
I recommend Howard Bloom's The Lucifer Principle. In it he ties in the idea of "evil" and how it's one of nature's strategies and it's woven into our basic biology. The book was written in 1995 and his chapter on the Middle East has proven most prophetic.
Personally, I think it's both a situation that has been engineered and it was engineered based on the natural behavior of human beings. You and I think in terms of years. Decades at best. The furthest we tend to think is maybe what are we going to leave our children. The "powers that be" think in terms of generations. They plan for things that will take more than a lifetime to fully come to fruition. For instance, go back and read (John Taylor Gatto is a good source for this) some of what the people who put our mandatory school system in place were saying in the 20's. The things they wanted then weren't completely possible. But now, 100 years later, their ways have infiltrated every teacher's college in the nation and thus they have gotten their way. Through patient, diligent application of their aims they have successfully created the malleable drones they wanted. They wanted to replace the nuclear family's influence with that of the academic world, for example. That wasn't possible then. It wasn't even really possible in the 50's. But now, that's exactly what we have. Schools dictate the very clothes students wear and now their medical treatments. Things that don't seem possible to us individual people with individual lives are accomplished long term through the influence of those who wish to guide such things. People like us don't get it because we have no interest in sticking our hands up people's asses and working them like puppets. It never occurs to us to manipulate others like that. Which also makes it hard for us to see it when others do it.
You'll never find me at anyone's feet begging for anything so you may not want to read my opinion. I think the problem is two-part. Part one is a lot of women need to be slapped with a copy of Camille Paglia so they can wake up and see what modern day feminism has robbed them of. But also I think they have bought into that illusion because it was easy because men have been overly domesticated (part two of the problem). I believe the domestication of the modern male is probably one of the most problematic things to have occurred in recent history. People talk a lot about "alpha males" without understanding the term. In the absence of real alphas, much like some species of fish, females will "turn into" males. We've had to "man up" socially in so many ways it doesn't shock me that we've taken on duties we may not be especially fit for. Trans folks and others may not want to admit it but there actually is a difference in male and female brains. Traditionally, we've balanced each other out pretty well. That's no longer the case. I have a whole host of thoughts about why this is that are not backed up by science but what is backed up by neuroscience is that our brains function differently. We need the balance restored but that's gonna be up to you men to shake off the domestication. The few of us women who see the problem as it is can't do it for you. And that's a tough row to hoe because you have a fuckton of government institutions benefitting from your domestication and controllability.
So the immune system takes a hit when some one is experiencing fear and anxiety.
"Anxiety and fear-related disorders were a prevalent condition in our sample; they were also the second highest risk factor for death among the underlying conditions considered in our study. The reasons for this finding are likely multifactorial and may include a reduced ability to prevent infection among patients with anxiety disorders, the immunomodulatory and/or cardiovascular effects of medications used to treat these disorders, or severe COVID-19 illness exacerbating anxiety disorders (19,20). In a subset of patients with pre-COVID encounters in our study, anxiety diagnosed before COVID-19 was not independently associated with death or IMV during COVID-19 hospitalization and, therefore, it is also plausible that anxiety was diagnosed during COVID-19 illness and may be a resulting sequela of COVID-19 (21). Future studies could explore the temporal and causal associations between anxiety disorders and severe COVID-19 illness."
That report does not seem to indicate whether fear and anxiety was caused by Covid, preexisting medications or was just a pre-exisiting condition before being infected with Covid. Some call it coronaphobia. If you already an anxiety disorder this phobia probably causes a "j" curve.
"Based on a review of these studies, we define coronaphobia as an excessive triggered response of fear of contracting the virus causing COVID-19, leading to accompanied excessive concern over physiological symptoms, significant stress about personal and occupational loss, increased reassurance and safety seeking behaviors, and avoidance of public places and situations, causing marked impairment in daily life functioning. The triggers involve situations or people involving probability of virus contraction, such as, meeting people, leaving house, travelling, reading the updates or news, falling ill or going for work outside."
