Cuomo, Murphy, Pelosi and that ilk are saying the same thing - the key is more testing. I have yet to see any explanation on precisely how it is the key or how the results will be used.

I'm pretty sure I won't like the answer in any case.

Looks like political showmanship to me. Trump, at least from what he's said, doesn't seem like he's going to be putting a lot of pressure on governors to reopen rapidly. He seems to be acknowledging different states have wildly differing situations, and wants ones that are okay with it to reopen, and ones that aren't to take their time. Of course, this is also probably a political move to take the onus off of him if any reopenings are disastrous or if any non-reopenings are also likewise disastrous. Cuomo is responding in kind signaling animosity to keep pressure on the president. The Democrats are pushing an absolute train wreck for the white house, and they know it. Their best bet is to undermine the incumbent as much as they can.

This dem governor vs. POTUS for their electoral advantage bothered me too for a while. But last night I suddenly realized, "So what!?" Trump wasn't going to get those votes anyway. Not in NY, not in CA, and not in IL.

Let em hold out and inflict more hurt on their own citizens. A county by county voting map showed a big sea of red for Trump in 2016 and that is unlikely to change in 2020.

It's unfortunate that there isn't enough solidarity in this country to just boycott taxes for the same number of days as the shutdowns.

Some numbers in here that are worth crunching and analyzing, to take a break from all the semantics I see people discussing. Which, by the way really only determines to what level, not if, the shutdown was a shit idea. That was obvious to me about 5 seconds after hearing it was a possibility. If it's not obvious to you by now, you need a long honest self evaluation about your existence.

The economic data is even worse than Wall Street feared: ''The economy is clearly in ruins here''

You act like this wasn't intentional.

    It was.

Now there is talk about everyone getting $2,000 per month from the government.

To slightly modify the opening of The Prisoner TV show from the '60s:

    #6: "What do you want?”

    #2: "Socialism."

#6: “Whose side are you on?"

#2: "That would be telling. We want socialism. Socialism. Socialism."

    #6: "You won't get it."

#2: "By hook or by crook, we will!"

    #6: "I am not a number. I am a free man!"

I may take on a mission tonight of posting this article to every person's page I can find on social media that has a profile picture of them in a face mask and #StayHome underneath. Or my other personal favorite - Stay Home. It Might Save a Life.
