This was written in the 19th century:
“It may be inferred again that the present movement for women’s rights will certainly prevail from the history of its only opponent, Northern conservatism. This [Northern conservatism] is a party which never conserves anything. Its history has been that it demurs to each aggression of the progressive party, and aims to save its credit by a respectable amount of growling, but always acquiesces at last in the innovation. What was the resisted novelty of yesterday is today one of the accepted principles of conservatism; it is now conservative only in affecting to resist the next innovation, which will tomorrow be forced upon its timidity and will be succeeded by some third revolution; to be denounced and then adopted in its turn. American conservatism is merely the shadow that follows Radicalism as it moves forward towards perdition. It remains behind it, but never retards it, and always advances near its leader. This pretended salt hath utterly lost its savor: wherewith shall it be salted? Its impotency is not hard, indeed, to explain. It is worthless because it is the conservatism of expediency only, and not of sturdy principle. It intends to risk nothing serious for the sake of the truth, and has no idea of being guilty of the folly of martyrdom. It always when about to enter a protest very blandly informs the wild beast whose path it essays to stop, that its “bark is worse than its bite,” and that it only means to save its manners by enacting its decent role of resistance: The only practical purpose which it now subserves in American politics is to give enough exercise to Radicalism to keep it “in wind,” and to prevent its becoming pursy and lazy, from having nothing to whip.”

Difficult to believe Giorgia Meloni would allow Fauci to flee to Italy.
But, I suppose the Vatican is outside of her Jurisdiction.

As for how many Yuan you have, your predicament is the same as every other nation on Earth, apart from China of course.
You will just have to start accumulating Yuan, by selling stuff to China; or to other nations, willing to pay in Yuan for your wares.

In a sense, you will have to start earning your living a bit, like everyone else has been doing, and appreciate the importance of a balanced trade account (thanks for all those deficit years, btw).

It's all a fairly huge change, granted, but not without some silver lining; for example, you might get reindustrialised, at least partially (at Europe's expenses, by the look of things).

You're describing a scenario where China's currency now becomes the global reserve currency. This would not be a good thing, for anyone. Not even the actual people of China. As bad as the United States Federal Government has become, China's is far worse, and is largely what ours is trying to match in terms of control over the populace with this authoritarian trend.

I would like to ask Macgregor, what the hell do voters have to do with it? 1968? The voters literally voted in an anti-war candidate in 2016, with the open intention of withdrawing from foreign occupations. His generals openly subverted his agenda, mocked him publicly, and now he's been arrested. I like Macgregor, but that article proves that even he cannot transcend being an incurable Boomer.

I look forward to Mark Milley's execution.

Don Surber: Republicans lay the groundwork for 2025 indictments

The indictment of President Trump was as predictable as snow in Antarctica. The deep state wants to kill him, destroy his family and plow his fields with salt. That would send a message to anyone who dares challenge their authority again.

Keep calm and carry on. We will right this wrong when a Republican is president. 2023 is not 2020. Republicans now realize the threat was not Trump.

Democrats believe they may have ended six years of expensive failure, but the indictment drew sharp criticism from Jeff Bezos and his flunkies at the Washington Post.

In an editorial (remember those?) the Bezosists said, “Donald Trump deserves the legal scrutiny he’s getting — which has come from many corners on many counts. Yet of the long list of alleged violations, the likely charges on which a grand jury in New York state voted to indict him are perhaps the least compelling. There’s cause for concern, and caution, ahead.”

Democrats have assumed that all they needed was lies to bring down Trump. The two impeachments undermined their credibility. But they look at polls that show majorities believe that he is guilty of something as proof that their strategy worked. Maybe it does, but throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks has left a very messy wall.
Yeah, how come nobody ever worries bout the wall?

On March 16, Comer announced, “Today, the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability issued a memorandum revealing new evidence resulting from the investigation into the Biden family’s influence peddling and business schemes. Subpoenaed financial records show that from 2015 to 2017, Biden family members – Hunter Biden, James Biden, Hallie Biden, and an unknown Biden — and their companies collectively received $1.3 million in payments from accounts related to Rob Walker, a Biden family associate.

“Notably, on March 1, 2017, less than two months after Vice President Joe Biden left public office, State Energy HK Limited, a Chinese company, wired $3 million to Rob Walker’s company. The next day, the company wired $1,065,000 to a company associated with James Gilliar, another Biden family associate. Afterwards, the Biden family received approximately $1,065,000 in payments over a three-month period in different bank accounts. From the bank records, it appears that the Biden family received approximately one-third of the money obtained from the China wire.”

    $3 million?

They sold us out to Red China for a lousy $3 million?
    This might get interesting.
