This is virtue signaling. The Giro D'Italia fucked up continuing testing. They were riding stages in near freezing temperatures, in rain, and even shortened a stage because the weather conditions were so bad. Amazingly guys got sick.
The problem in cycling is that these guys are so on the edge fitness-wise (in cycling terms) that their immune systems are pretty much shot. Any little thing gets into the peloton and it runs through like wildfire. Guys normally room together on the road, but the moment someone shows a sniffle they separate them because like has happened for thousands of years, someone with a weak immune system (and sometimes even halfway strong one) can catch something when in close proximity with someone who has something.
They should have simply let the teams say a guy was sick (because that is what was going on). Once the weather improved, the only abandons were guys who crashed out. But yes, covid was the problem, and masks will solve the "problem." Sheesh.

It's vaguely funny and yet instructive that ufo's have been the focus of "dissidents" for so long, now the government is throwing them a bone and no-one appears to care. Maybe it's the circles I traverse in but I haven't seen anyone give the slightest fuck about anything ufo related for a long time.
We may be in a period of history that will be someone's history test in a few hundred years.

Breathless hyperactive crap. This stuff bothers me, because it sounds like the ChatGPT-like goo I get from dear friend in Montana (not recently though, I complain now).
One small inauthenticity does it for me. The use of the word "triplicate" doesn't make sense. They're talking about "vast arrays" of our most sensitive sensors, and then they triple that? Or three agencies using the vast array simultaneously? Sharing isn't the strong suite of those agencies. And what "vast arrays"? Vast. I'm a little familiar with our remote sensing capabilities from space, and "vast" doesn't quite fit.

So, I've actually been following the UFO/paranormal/cryptozoology scene for like 25 years... I don't buy into it but for whatever reason I find it interesting as a sociological concept. Anyway, once you follow this stuff for long enough, you notice the same patterns and cycles emerging. The current UFO talk is the same shit they were saying in the 70's, then the 90's, and now today.
Every 20 years or so there'll be a new investigative journalist, new government source, and usually a new documentary or two, that promises to finally be the "real deal smoking gun" that is going to prove once and for all that UFOs and aliens are real.
All that will happen though, is a few quasi-official reports may come out confirming that a few UFO sightings can't be explained, maybe a blurry image of some amorphous blob will be leaked, a former government employee will say, "I've seen crystal clear images of alien spacecraft, but they're classified" and then everything will die down for another 20 years. The current UFO wave is a nothingburger, as all previous UFO waves have been.
For those who may be interested in the topic.. read Kenneth Arnold's first description of what he reportedly saw, and then look up the German WWII Horton Hoo aircraft. I personally believe all UFO sightings are just unclassified military aircraft, starting with delta wing airplanes the US inherited from the Luftwaffe thanks to Operation Paperclip.

Digging a little deeper, this guy is NOT a whistle blower for disclosing government programs about discovery of aliens. That may be a security violation in that he’s not allowed to talk about these programs.
He IS a whistle blower for alleging inappropriate contracting and funding structures which are highly lucrative especially when kept at the tippy top secret level - Black programs. There are acknowledged special access programs (SAP) , the name can be public but the details top secret. There are unacknowledged SAPs, that you can’t talk about the existence or name except with a few key congressional committee members. And there are waived unacknowledged SAPs where all rules of access and oversight are waived and mysterious.
Your instincts were exactly right! Nothing better to hide fraud then the fear of vicious aliens, or a virus, AI, or catastrophic man-made climate change.
