Amazon accused a customer of racism and disabled his "smart" home.

If you use any device that requires a globohomocorp's servers to operate, you don't own it. They own you.

I assume you know this. Not everyone who posts on these forums is American. You can come up with better arguments against my concerns, which are the outcomes of me thinking about homeschooling quite seriously because I intend to homeschool my own children and it's not a decision I will make lightly. Homeschooling is very rare in Britain and there is nothing here like the national homeschooling movement you have in the US, so there is much less support for parents who choose to do it. The fact that two million children in the US are homeschooled means very little. Are they homeschooled well? Will they do better academically than their peers in classrooms? Are they socially isolated? Are they exposed to people with whom they and their parents disagree? The answer to these questions may well be 'Yes' in every case, but that has little bearing on my circumstances or those of the parents around me. All signs indicate that it is easier to homeschool in the US than in most other countries.
I know how the Brits spell "favor", and I know what a windscreen is. I was kidding about that. But the paucity of homeschooling in the UK should be viewed as an opportunity. Surely you people have a little scrap of entrepreneurship left in you. Adapt some American home school materials to your situation, respell the words that make you unhappy, and start something useful.

This is amazing. You need to watch it.

I agree there is a lot wrong and corrupt with the Trump indictment. However the Barnes analysis is off, I think. There are two types of people that can classify information. Original classifiers and derivative classifiers. The president is not the only original classifier although the president can decide who is or isn’t. At any time there are probably several dozen original classifiers.

Derivative classifiers , of which I was one until recently, can create new documents based on established guidelines. These documents have as markings, a “classified by” line, the person, and “derived from” the explicit guidance. There are thousands of these derivative classifiers.

Classification level, classified by and derived from markings is the information we need to know first. EVERYTHING in the media is make believe.

You're saying that the President cannot declassify some documents?

He still has not faced much resistance from media.
Desantis locked down Florida; he did not stand for what he thought was right until it was politically expedient.
Desantis does not hire better people than any of the RINO uniparty members. Remember this ad from his new presidential campaign advisors? Former Navy Pilot HUMILIATES Ron DeSantis for Cringey 'Top Gun' Ad - Invidious
The most damning evidence that he is compromised and spineless is the fact that he flew to Israel to sign a first in the nation law that would effectively criminalize free speech in Florida.

This guy is the new John McCain; all he is missing is the actual military duty.

Desantis is not a real option.

Desantis's flip flop on both lockdowns and the vaccine only came after polls repeatedly made it clear his voter base would support it; until then, he was among the more ardent supporters of both lockdowns and Covid vaccination: DeSantis Flip-Flops From Covid Vaccine Supporter To Most Powerful Critic: HereÂ’s What Happened
I would not say they gave him a pass. How many governors have had as much negative press on national news programs than him? I honestly can’t think of any, other than maybe Abbott. That’s a good point on the early Covid restrictions, but the fact of the matter is he was pushing opening up before trump, by a long shot. Trump also criticized his and kemps decision to open when they did. The sad truth is trump seemed to have good instincts during early Covid, such as opening by Easter, only to get sucked into the machine. Trumps spending was entirely out of control through his whole administration as well.

I moved to Florida from Connecticut in August 2020 specifically because of the Covid restrictions in CT, and it was like two different worlds. Whether Desantis did that because he was pressured to by his people (which is a good thing as well) or not, the fact of the matter is he was pushing for freedom when trump was not.

The only exception I'm aware of is nuke-related documents which are solely under the authority of DOE to declassify.

No. He can declassify anything. The Barnes guy says no one else can. Which isn’t true.

I watched the whole thing, and I don't remember him saying that. But he might have.

Imagine a world where not only does the report of a perceived offensive remark warrant substantial real-time consequences to your liberty, security, and livelihood (that alone is a prime indicator that we're living in a dystopia), but where your robot doorbell issues the perceived offensive remark, and the result is that the rest of your robot servants are remotely deactivated by the omniscient mainframe overlord. Now we're talking complete dystopian hellscape beyond human comprehension.

In short, fuck this gay ass timeline.
