The constitution is currently seen as an antiquated, outdated, racist document anyway. In 30 years the majority of the US population will be comprised of people whose ancestral nations never went through an enlightenment period, never developed ideals of inherent liberty, never valued the concept of independence from government. Constitutions and the concept of inalienable rights are uniquely Western conventions.
Why should a country whose majority population never cared about Western ideals like freedom of speech, due process, or private property, suddenly adopt those values once they cross an imaginary line on the continent?
I was thinking about replying, then I remembered an old saying by Samuel Clemens...
Seconded.
Import the third world, become the third world.
Re the cops "doing their job" I hate to defend them but if the Dad was getting angry and disruptive at a school board meeting (rightfully so) they would have called the cops and said "there's a disruptive guy here refusing to leave property when told" I can't imagine they added in the backstory as to why he was there. The cops there don't know who he is or why he's there, they just get there and see an angry and disruptive guy refusing to leave property. I'm not really sure what else they were meant to do.
Hindsights always 20/20 obviously but optics always matter, in this case the Dad won the optics war because while he got arrested at the time, he won the narrative from the event. The left inherently understands stuff like this, this is why they harass and poke cops in the hope of provoking a reaction that can be used as a propaganda victory if they react, and making them look ridiculous if they stand their impotently.
If the Dad Didn't want to be arrested, then he shouldn't have been doing what he was accused of when the cops arrived. If someone calls the cops on you because you're on their property (it doesn't matter if you are or aren't) it's a real good idea to not be standing on their property when the cops arrive.

Given that reality, it is easy to argue that the House impeached Donald Trump in 2019 for crimes that he did not commit, but which the current president Joe Biden most certainly had during his Vice Presidency.
But weaponizing impeachment is just one baleful legacy of the Left. There are plenty more of their own precedents that Leftists now would not wish to have applied to themselves:

A post from investigative journalist Yafa Shir Raz:
------Facebook just reminded me that a year has passed since the IsraeLeak affair - the leaked video I exposed, that proves that the Israeli MOH knew that the Pfizer vaccine has serious side effects, but hid it and silenced the evidence.
They knew because the study that was presented to them in June 2021 by their own research team revealed serious and long-term effects, and a causal relationship.
They knew because the head researcher warned them to think carefully how to present those findings to the public, otherwise they may be sued.
They knew but still published a manipulative report to cover-up these serious findings after we exposed them, and told the public that no new signal was found.
How can anyone trust health authorities after this video? They knew all along they were harming people. They knew they were deceiving the world – and hid it from the public.

I'm struggling to imagine a scenario where men with guns just show up at my door to raid my safe. Perhaps Mr. Hughes did something he shouldn't have done. And clearly its authority was recognized as they presented a warrant to Liberty to get the code. I just don't see the jump from this incident to the broader suspicion that they're coming for our safes.
The Albuquerque gun ban reminds me of the Harris County mask mandate issued by Hidalgo. A power play satiating those that want it, but not really actionable. Not even a day later, that ridiculous order was overturned after recognizing she had no power to issue such a mandate. I suspect something similar will happen here, especially since her own party is already distancing itself from her:
Hanlon's Razor is rather germane to all of this.Bernalillo County Sheriff John Allen, a Democrat, said Monday that he would not enforce Grisham's 30-day ban on carrying guns in public spaces.
